San Antonio, USA
Larry Graeber grew up in Austin Texas. Following some college and working as a muralist and
carpet designer, he moved to San Antonio. While living in a duplex Graeber produced some 30
large oil stick drawings and one painting that translated into a one-person show titled Works
from a Small Duplex curated by John Leeper, director of the McNay Art Museum. Today Graeber devotes his time primarily to oil painting and moderately scaled assemblage sculpture. He also produces works on paper and two-dimensional foam board constructions to help inform his primary disciplines. In the fall of 2014 Graeber was honored to be included in a book titled Texas Abstract,
Modern/Contemporary, a history and survey of the abstract movement in Texas.
